Choosing a celebrant for your wedding can be a difficult part of your planning, but it is essential that you choose them carefully. The right one, will make your day special, filled with a lifetime of wonderful memories. The wrong one will fill your lifetime with memories, but they will be far from wonderful..!
So choose carefully.
When you start out, you will hear about some terrible Celebrants, many adequate Celebrants, and a few profession Celebrants who are great at what they do.
So choose carefully.
If possible, make an appointment to meet with the Celebrant, before choosing them. Ask yourself if you feel relaxed with them, and if you feel comfortable to be in their company.

Ask how much input you can put into your ceremony. And how much or less, will they put into the ceremony. Your Celebrant should allow you to choose the ceremony you want – not the other way around. Your celebrant must have, not should have, excellent communication skills. They must inform you of what has to be done, and listen to your ideas.

Very Importantly, You need to trust your celebrant to know all the legal implications, for your wedding. And they must be familiar, with your specific wedding requirements. Your celebrant will need to work with, and be flexible with, other wedding professionals. Such as photographers, wedding planners, your bridal party, and your parents. Not forgetting the Venue staff, and your guests…
